Mike Berry is Counselling in Kent.
I’m an experienced integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. That means the counselling and psychotherapy I provide draws on a number of models: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) Psychodynamic Therapy, Gestalt, and the Person Centred Approach.
Whatever models I am using, the work is always relationship-based and aimed at helping people get over problems, heal their wounds and grow as human beings.
As well as working with adults I also see couples, adolescents, children and elderly clients. As a private therapist I work from my home, which has wheelchair access, but also go out to people who find it inconvenient to come to me [due to infirmity or the need to remain within a residence]. This tends to be children in care but can also be people who, for one reason or another, are infirm.
I charge £40 - £60 per hour and 40p per mile if I am not working at my own base. The number of sessions will be negotiated at the start and reviewed regularly so that the work meets your needs.
My belief is that one of the results of psychological dis–ease is disempowerment; so my aim is that when a person has completed a course of therapy with me they will have reclaimed some of that power that – whether they knew it or not – was missing.
